Kendra is celebrating Navratri from 15 October 2023 to 23 October 2023.

The new committee will be led by the new President Mahesh Gandecha, the youngest President of the Kendra in The 30 year history of the Kendra. Mahesh Chandulal Gandecha, was born and completed his academic studies in Rajkot, Gujarat, India, graduating with a B.Com, LLB and a diploma in Business Management. In 1994 he went to India and married his life partner Ekta.

Sravana is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar. In India's national civil calendar, Srava?a is the fifth month of the year, beginning in late July from the first day of the full moon and ending in the third week of August, the day of the next full moon.

One of the most anticipated highlights for the young and old on the Kendra calendar is the annual Rangili Shaam event. This spectacular colourful display of talent brings together our entire community as parents, grandparents and siblings proudly support the performances of their loved ones.

We experienced global turmoil with the advent of the Covid pandemic and this had a direct impact on human life and their livelihood. The impact of the shutdown resulted in huge loss of business and loss of jobs. During this period, as an organization, we faced many challenges in various spheres of our activities and through our resilience we managed to overcome most of it.

Kendra celebrates International Yoga Day The Consulate General of India organised numerous events in Durban to commemorate International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2017.

BAND BAAJA...BRIDAL FAIR!!! Walking into the bridal fair, I am surrounded by beautiful lehengas, sarees, splashes of colour, dazzling jewels and I’m bewildered by the colours, effervescence and music. To every bride, the most important event in her life is her wedding day and she dreams, she plans and works hard at making it the most memorable day of her life. The annual Sunday Times Eastern bridal fair offers her everything to plan her magical day all under one roof.

A DREAM - NOW A REALITY On 12th October 2008 the havan for the Retirement Home created a high interest and enthusiasm , and finally the hopes and vision of the community saw the commencement of construction of the building, the initial phase being the drilling of the borehole and then the piling which commenced on 13th October 2008.

EASTERN BRIDAL FAIR - ANOTHER SUCCESS : The 16th Sunday Times Eastern Bridal Fair can best be described as Smooth and Slick. All involved in this event performed like well- oiled machines. Stall holders and Service providers put their best foot forward and the result was an astounding success. All the volunteers were fantastic and worked tirelessly.

JUSHVANTRAI MAVJEE - PRESIDENT : With the State of the Nation Address behind us and the rumpus that followed it, I am glad that I will not be heckled whilst in the hot seat. 2015 is turning out to be very eventful. Everywhere you go, the favourite topic is load-shedding. The Joburg people have dinner — talking of the e-tolling issues. My friends in Cape-Town are all concerned with gangsterism, drugs and the fact that the Cape is the place to be.
